FM-9 timer and BadAss ESC???
« on: August 27, 2022, 02:20:27 PM »
Is anyone running the Hubin timer with a BAdAss ESC?
If so what are your timer settings?

Thanks

Paul,
I assume you are running the Rebel ESC?  I have both the FM-9 and the Rebel but have not used them as of yet.  Looking forward to anything you might get.  My guess is that you will run compensated throttle unless one of the other ESC fixed RPM modes will work.  Looking forward to seeing what people have to say.  Sorry I do not have input for you at this point.

Thanks John. Yes it’s the Rebel with a Hubin timer.

I am still cutting my teeth in this electric stuff. With fuel being $30 A gallon and I was starting to have a allergic reaction to the exhaust fumes I figured it’s time to switch.

I’ll figure it out and let ya know.

Here is what I am going with.

Hubin Timer with BA ESC

Flight Time: = 1 min 45 Sec
Delay time: 25 Seconds
ESC Mode: throttle mode
throttle mode: 63.0%
Finish

This is for the Hubin FM-9 Timer using a BadAss Rebel ESC.

My only question is the delay time.  Cutting it a little close, especially if the lanyard gets tangled or your line clips are flipped, or you find you forgot to unwrap the lines.  Most folks I know use 40.
Nothing can compare to hearing your motor start to ramp up while you are fiddling with the handle.  You will only do it once....don't ask.

Paul,
Looks like a good start.  Did you try the compensated throttle mode to keep the speed up as the batter drops and did you have the Rebel in governed mode?
