E-Flite 25
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:39:45 PM »
Can any of you guys post some pictures of how you mount the E-Flite 25 in a full body plane (I tried a search and didn't really find what I needed).  Is there a way to front mount or does this motor have to be rear mounted?  This is my first attempt with electric so I'm fumbling through the learning process.

Thanks,

James

James couple of photos on how i mount my motors.
Firewall mount and through fire wall mount.
NOTE: the through firewall mount eliminates the need for a removable cowl.
Hope it helps.
James there are many that advocate front mounted with rear shaft support. For my uses the firewall mounted motor has worked very well. The only time that i had any issues was with the Axi 2826-10 with fire wall mount. This motor after some abuse on my part, the can started to rub against the magnets.
Motors used with firewall mount Eflite 25-32,Axi 2826-10,Platt's 15-18,20-12,25-14,30-14 scorpion and many of the cheaper motors.

Hello James,
You've been searching in all the wrong places, then ...
Try looking through the "list your setup" thread. There are many instructive pictures.
Yes, the motor can be front mounted, and I strongly suggest it.

I have an E-Flite Power 32.  It has instructions on how to reverse the shaft, which is what you want.  I've done this and it makes it front mounted.  I would think the 25 has the same instructions.

Thanks Mike, mine did not come with any instructions.

Thanks Dean, I opened the electric section and then used the search function.  I'll check out the set up thread.
