With hatches both on top and bottom, I'd worry about the nose falling off.

Great color scheme - simple and to the point.  Weight sounds good too.

Thanks guys for the compliments

G/Day Howard   It only has the top hatch to hold battery in when locked down and the side are extended down and shaped so no need for a cowl , bottom is left open for cooling , I also have a ply battery floor glue in to stiffen the nose up as well corner gussets in and around it as too the ply motor mount which goes almost the the bottom of side.As well i have left about a 3/32 of the bearers in .Hope this help

I have been interested in trying a top hatch, but a structures guy familiar with this airplane advised me against it.  I'm looking forward to seeing how yours works.

It's good that you have cooling air going to the stuff that needs cooling.  Mine didn't, so I had to make silly internal ducts.

We have found (PW has found, and eventually convinced me) that the battery CG for these airplanes should be approximately at the wing centerline.  Looks like yours is closer than where mine started.

Pretty airplane.  I think the aft section color is particularly tasteful.

CG at wing center line ?

So does that mean evenutally we will see a redesign for ELC specfic lifting wings with a more rearward highpoint?

Hi Howard,
Do you mean that he suggested to center the "massive" battery vertically on the leadout position?
Is this for some dynamic balance issue?

Thanks,

Just to be clear:

Thank you Howard understand clearly  and I will try this .

Test flown and with all the cooling i have it still over heated badly from the motor , Esc n battery. Back to the drawing board .Set up im running was 12/6p n 13/5.5 WP set 9300rpm 4s 3300 battery put 2140 back in after 5.30min flight. more cooling i suppose to handle the 40c heat here in the outback.

Just to be clear:

Hi Howard,
Sure enough, that was clear. Now, WHY?
This should be educational, no?

It's a Mystery of Stunt.  Putting the battery on the wing centerline is just a rule of thumb, and applies only to Impacts as far as I know.
