Aaron, and I, finally got the super clown all set up and gave it a test run. Surprised at what happened. The plane made a couple funny little sounds (coming from the ESC or something) then a slight burst of propeller followed by seconds of silence. Then the prop started spinning! ;D A good bit of thrust was evident.
Even though we could not go fly it, it's nice to see it all "works". Model is an ARF Electric Super Clown. Just something to actually see what some of this is all about.

Aaron is going to have to fly it, I can't right now with any confidence. ;D We have a Super Clown with a McCoy .29 RH Hybrid to fly back to back. (my OTS model, still! LOL!! )

Hi Dan,
It is something to give us an idea of how the electric stunt stuff works. Not a World Class effort, but a start.

Of course. It's a good start and you will have a good learning experience from it I'm sure. Have fun. :)

Brother Bear
Got a kick out of the first post, am waiting for the logical next-step post! Remember you can "short tank" it to a 1:45 run by just turning the TIME setting all the way to the left. That ought to ive you a chance to work up your flight times whilst you get back into fightin trim...

Hi Brother Denny,
It was kinda like two real big kids on Christmas morning! Lots of giggles. ;D
Now I need to find out how much and when to recharge the batteries. How low do you discharge
the battery before charging?
Thanks!

AFAIK there's no need to discharge the batteries before charging. The whole "discharge before charging" thing applies to NiCd batteries, to break the "memory effect", and was about 10% real-world effects due to bad electronics design, and 90% myth.
If there is something that I don't know about discharging LiPo packs before charging them -- please don't tell that to the batteries I fly my 'lectric RC planes with! For years I've just taken them out of the plane after whatever length of flight I may have put on them, tossed them on the charger, and flown them again after I hear the little tune. I haven't had to buy a new battery pack for years.

Bill,
You are right where Brother Denny was at the start of his electric CL venture. Given a few years and you might be into developing systems for the masses.

Indeed I was merely a grasshopper when John let me fly his E-Super Clown. I have not built a greaser since!

Hi Big John,
Yep, you never know! LOL!! These chemo treatments are doing wild things with my brain! LOL!!

Bill,
Hang in there and be ready for when it is done as you will find that push a button to fly with no clean up afterwards gets pretty addicting.

Hang in there Big Bear, as I also want to fly electric with you one of these days/years. Been dropping hints all over the house for Christmas. H^^

Hi Doc,
I would dearly love to fly with you before too long! We "ALMOST" made it out to fly yesterday with the E Super Clown! Perfect day to fly, but things got in the way...........
I do hope to see/meet you soon.
Big Bear
P.S. A fellow I know who likes to fly C/l has moved to town here and can fly in the middle of the week. Just what I need!
