I tried a new setting on CC Phoenix 45 today and got it all wrong. Motor took off at around 12,000 RPM and the flight was VERY fast
Didn't want to fly around in fast circles, so I tried doing a soft pattern at 70 degrees. On the last corner of the inside squares, the battery
flew out. Ended up going over 50 yards away! Battery was bent and puffy. I didn't trust taking it home. A friend that works with LiPos at work
said if he hit with a screw driver, it would blow. I don't recommend doing this, but he went ahead and did it in the middle of the desert on a concrete
pad. Took a picture of the fire for all to see. Didn't burn like I thought it would, as I expected a big flash and tall flames. Instead, a lot of smoke and HEAT.
I can see if one of these went off in a house, even in a safe place, the smoke damage alone would be major.
I will now re-think my storage of these batteries.
