Title: Electric Progress
Post by: David Hoover on September 09, 2013, 01:28:03 PM
Had my converted Brodak Cardinal out for the second time today.  Did a couple more short (2 minute) flights then changed batteries and did a 4 minute flight.  I now have my routine for install battery, plug in battery etc. etc. sorted out so that I don't really need to think about it any more, just like I had a routine for glow engines.  I got too cute on one take off and had a prop strike but Keith Renecle's timer worked just as advertised, shutting everything down before any damage occurred.  Thanks, Keith.  Now that I have a certain comfort level in handling the electric gear I'm ready to resurrect my pattern.  I've flown very little in the past few years (don't think I got out even once last year) so I've lost a lot of what I had.  But today I did some loops for the first time in a couple of years.  It feels good, man.  It feels real good.

It's like riding a bicycle,  you don't forget how, you just get a little rusty.   Glad the system is working for you.
