A couple of photos of an Electric SV-22 plug in wing take apart model. Model also has removable flaps and elevators
This model is similar to William Demauro's Nat's SV-22 the difference is that its take apart.
The projected final weight of 69oz is 4oz higher than planed.
I will make a new stab with out carbon fiber cloth to reduce stab weight by 1.5 oz.
Williams Model flys great at 69oz
I have started a new SV22 as a one piece model. The weight goal is 63oz ready to fly

Just AWESOME baby! 8)
You mentioned a new 1-piece airplane - with good 6 oz weight save opportunity. May I suggest a partial take-apart instead:
* Keep the plug-in wings. This makes transport much eaiser
* Permanently install the tail. this saves weight at the tail which in turn POTENTIALLY saves weight in the nose.
I am taking this approach on 3 of my new birds, with one piece bolt on wings. True they are still a little too much to take on an airplane, but much easier to transport via car - the difference between needing a Mini-van versus an econobox. It is not too complex nor heavy and makes the birds VASTLY easier to cart around!

that is SUPER COOL!!!

Jose,
How did you do the flap horn part? Just curious if you did it the same as I did mine.

Went flying today. Model flys great. Two trim items, outboard trim tab raised to trim wing for level flight. second lengthen elev push rod 2 Turns to equal the inside and outside turns. SV-22 balance 6.5" from trailing edge
specs
Motor Eflite 25 870 KV RPM 9,250
ESC Castle Phoenix 45
Timer Hubin FM9
Battery Hyperion 4s 4000
Prop APC 13x4.5 pusher
Line Length for test flite 62' eye to eye (i like to use shorter lines for initial flights)
Three 1.5 min flites for trim then 2 full pattern's. The hourglass was real sharp. over head eights need some trimming.
Derek i will include a photo of wing horn. NOTE: i used double horns for flap and elevator.
The only funny item was dropping outboard wing just before touch down on landing. model seems to want to land with a little more speed.PS i was flying alone and dragged out the glide to finish at stooge.

Your fuselage. Was it laid up in a mold or was it a "Wrap."
Wingspan?

Jose,
Sorry I missed you today, I would have loved to see it fly. I like the way you did the battery hatch. I'm looking foward to seeing your current work and hooking up with you. I can't wait to see it painted.

Hey Wynn,
Would you mind waiting till I fly it before you stake claim to it? I want to compare my original non take apart with this one. Thanks.

Ah yes, I can see it now, your flaps just slide over the flap horns just as mine do. Looks good Jose. How are you liking that Hanna take apart hardware? I love it, I am planning to order a couple more setups.

Hanna,Yatsenko same animal. I will order additional hardware for future use
Dallas gives you the rear mount on one piece the Yatsenko you have to make the mating system
With this change Dallas system is better as you can order for specific models. The Yatsenko hardware is for their models and you must conform to the hardware
I will add photos of both units.

I've just finished the wing section for my Takeapart 2012 model and specifically used the Hannah system. Custom made and worked perfectly. This will be all I use from now on.

Hi Jose,
Looks Awesome, seems a shame to cover the carbon with paint.
Is there also a brace across the leading edge? I can see the anchor points for the TE and Spars but nothing indicating the LE is secured. (I'm a take apart virgin so this may be a silly question).
Thanks in advance

The hannah system anchors:
Wing root top/bottom.
Trailing edge bottom only.
Very easy and bulletproof

John a couple of photos of the Dallas Hanna SV-22 take apart system.

Great, thanks both. Looks like an excellent system, Just one more question. :)
Did you weight the take apart components prior to assembly? Just wondering how much it all weighs.
Thanks again
