Hi all,

This is my first post here so please take it easy on me.

I have decided to build an electric stunter.  This will be my first attempt at electric stunt, but I've flown electric RC off and on for the past 10 years.  The airframe will be designed for electric power from the ground up.  The design in its present form will have about a 53" wing span and 560 sq in.  Projected weight will be 45 ounces. 

I have been researching motors and batteries and ran across the hyperion series.  I'm looking at this motor:  http://www.hyperion-world.com/products/product/HP-ZS3020-10 (http://www.hyperion-world.com/products/product/HP-ZS3020-10) and these batteries: http://www.hyperion-world.com/products/product/HP-LG335-2600-4S (http://www.hyperion-world.com/products/product/HP-LG335-2600-4S).  The prices look pretty good and everything i've read has been positive.  Does anyone see any gleaming problems with trying this motor and battery combination?  I would think a phoenix 35 would be fine with 4s starting with a 12x6e.  I have been trying to find where to order a timer from, but havent had any luck.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I use the Ztron V4 timer that I get from Mike Palko, hes here on the forum.
dont know nothin about the Hyperion motors,, I am a Hacker/Axi motor guy so far

I bought my Ztron from Windy Urtnowski. Was about $30 and shipped promptly. Has been flawless so far. Is a little obscure to program with the dip switches and pushbutton, but works when you get the hang of it.

I bought my Ztron and JMP-2 timers from BSD Micro: (the $30 ones)

I bought the current timer for my Vector from Will Hubin---it is really nice to be able to easily change flight parameters during the shakedown phase of the flying process. He has made posts here in these forums.

I too have been using Will Hubin timers. The FM 2A that he set up for the Castle Creations Phoenix 45 ESC works great for me. I can dial in the rpm with a laptop computer using the CC USB programming adapter cable and their software. His timers run from around 15 to 20 dollars.

Is 280 grams in the "ballpark" weight wise for a 4s 2600 mah lipo?

I am expecting delivery of two 4s2600 mAHr Thunderpower ProLites V2 on Monday. Their specs "claim" 232g weight per pack. I hope that is correct. However they are costing me more per pack ($99) than my normal packs, so you always need to keep that in mind! I think they will work just great on my new Vector40.

Wow, I hadnt seen the prolite v2's.  They look very interesting.  I found them for $95 at www.espritmodel.com (http://www.espritmodel.com).  230 grams is very light.  I would be very interested to hear how they do once you've flown them.  Thanks for the information!

Also, just noticed that espritmodels has the phoenix 45 on sale for $85 right now.
