Can I use a parallel board to?

I use it to charge two batteries but can I use it to put two batteries in storage mode?

Yes, in fact if I have a fully charged battery along with one that was used in a flight, (eg 20% left) I connect the battery leads (of both) only onto the board, NOT the balance leads, then leave them for 10 minutes or so and when checked after that time they are both around the storage charge of approx. 55 to 60%.
BuddyRC says to do this before charging them to make sure they have about the same charge, but I also do it to balance them like this to put them into storage.

Sounds like it was not designed to put batteries in storage mode.  ???

It ought to work.  For most battery chemistries that I've heard of, parallel cells of the same type pretty much act like one big cell.

But I've never tried it, so I can only theorize.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I always connect the balancing jack first when putting batteries on a parallel board.  Especially when connecting batteries with different charges.  The voltage difference of the packs gets divided by the number of cells you are using, if that makes sense.  Much safer IMHO.

Gonzo,
I just bought a new balance adapter from EP BUDDY, it came with an important correction recommending to "plug all the power connectorsDeans,EC3,EC5,XT60,etc.)1st, leave them for a couple minutes, then connect the balance leads. By this way the voltage difference between different packs can be minimized, and the possibility of damage to the board can be eliminated if there is a significant voltage difference between batteries."

Thanks for the update Bob.  In fact, EP Buddy is where I bought my charger, and boards, and at the time they were recommending plugging the balance jacks first for the reasons I stated above.  Made sense, but must be causing problems with their boards.  Glad this discussion came up.

I wish this topic would have come up awhile ago, it might have saved the generic parallel board I bought. I started connecting the balance leads and vaporized the foil trace off the board. I salvaged it by hardwiring the bad traces.
