Electric Eze-Pro
« on: October 20, 2012, 01:25:39 AM »
Hi everyone, Has anyone built an Electric Eze-Pro which is a free plan on Keith Renecle's website.I have an Emax 2820 and some 2200 4s batteries ready to go. Looking at the plan though it looks to me that it would turn out very nose heavy without extra weight added to the tail.I am hoping someone here who has built one can assure me this is not the case and that it will balance out around the 44oz mark. Thanks,John.

Hi John,

A few of them have been built here and they all seem to be slightly nose heave so you could shorten the nose a little if you like. It all depends on whether you use a light or heavy battery pack. It's also easier to add a little tail weight than nose weight so the nose length is no real problem. They do come out at around 44 oz. and fly real well at that weight. The wing is made with riblets like I-beam wings and is in fact more like the Tom Morris Millenium wing system. I make the wing on a simple Half-a-Jig (not 1/2A) instead of the blocks that Tom uses. It's a nice system and uses simple ribs that are easy to cut with one template, and uses very little balsa. I've attached a pic of the jig with a tapered wing in it. I build both wing halves in the jig and then join them afterwards in the same jig. Hope it makes sense to you.

Check you email inbox Keith, I want a set of plans for this plane.  I feel it is my sworn duty to test these models and make sure they are suitable for flying north of the equator.  LL~ LL~ LL~

Here in Darkest Africa you also need to wind the clock back as well. Our internet is still "steam-driven" although I must admit to seeing some progress and the speed and price of high speed is coming down. Maybe they've moved up to diesel power now S?P

O.K. Andy, I've mailed you the plans and for anyone else that's interested here is the link:
