You mean electric stunt?
I think stunt is impractical with a ducted fan.

A control line model, electric duct fan pwered. It doesn't have to be a stunt model.

I would think an electric ducted fn would be a natural in a scale model.  There have been a handful of IC ducted fans so a 1-1 replacement seems quite doable.  Clancy Arnold's U-tronics are compatible with the ESC's, the combo should be a lot more user friendly for a scale model than a screaming IC fan.

Would also work in some of the rear engine models (A-10, Learjet, etc) because you could locate the battery way froard in the fuselage for balance.

Give it a go Mike!

Go out to any R/C field and the chances are you will see an electric ducted fan model.  There are a few ARF foamy ducted fan  models available.  They will over time completely replace gas ducted fan, if they haven't already.  They produce more thrust, more speed, and are less expensive.  Remember ducted fan engines run in the 20K world, gas engines that do that are few and far between plus you must have a pipe.  That's and expensive setup, electric will win this battle hands down.

By no means had I thought it is impractical for all disciplines of CL. It is impractical Just for stunt since we need high acceleration low speed which is an ideal prop application.
For the rest go for it I see no problem just be careful with routing the pushrod it would be interesting to see how you put a pushrod around the fan.
I feel under fire here.
