I'd recommend a Scorpion 3014-16 (kV=1187) with an APC 10-7 Thin Electric prop turning in the 8-9000 rpm range. This could probably run just fine with a Castle Creations 25A Phoenix ESC in governor mode, and a FMA 2100 mAHr 3s Lipo Battery. I use the JMP-2 timer, but the Zigras works as well. Currently I am using the stock Brodak motor, but plan to switch to the Scorpion as soon as the weather permits!
This is basically what I use in my Brodak Super Clown E-Arf. I think you can see some of my results by searching in this forum. My SC fully loaded is 28oz.
I fly a TF Flite Streak Arf with a Fox 15 BB. It is a very light airframe. Main trick is to figure where to stow the battery on that short front end.

You might be able to modify the upper outboard wind to include a hatch for the battery. You will need to reinforce the leading edge with a vertical shear spar ( say 1/8" hard balse running the lenght of the planking). For the hatch you might need to form a bubble to cover the top if the battery that might stick out above the planking (you should avoid cutting the spar, battery could sit on top of the spar) just make a smoothly shaped cover.

   That is an ARF I started with. The mods were very simple. I enlarged the engine cutout to accept the AXI motor. Epoxied a 1/8" plywood firewall against the back of the cutout, then faired the firewall in with hard balsa. I notched the leading edge to accept the battery and may have braced the spars. I think I put a shear web between the spars that doubled as a brace and a rear battery stop (I would have to double check). I used two threaded inserts with J-hooks to put a rubber band or two around to secure the battery.

Hi Rob,
   The battery shown is 1.5" wide. If you go past the original seeting just extend it like the electric Super Clown. It looks like the max width you could get in the wing without adding sheeting is 1.75" and that might be tight.

Hi Rudy,
   I am using the 2814/10 (because I had it laying around) and a 3S 2100mah pack. With a 8x5 prop it flies ~4.5 second laps (educated guess) on 0.015" x 60' eye to eye lines. The 2814/12 would work just as well..... I am sure you could get away with even less. It only weighs 26oz ready to fly.
