Gentlemen,
I have an AVEOX 1409-3 Delta wind inrunner left over from the days of dedicated commutation electronics with Hall effect shaft position sensors. Would like to put it into an AMA Class A speed ship (8.4 Volts maximum- probably 2S LiPo)
Don't know how many poles, but appears to have 12 neutral positions for 360 degrees of shaft rotation.
My question is what settings should I start with using a modern brushless (Sensorless) ECU. Advance, rate or other adjustments to get maximum power without setting the phasers to 'roast'
Dean?

If it's a Castle Creations, ask 'em. Even if they don't know the motor I bet they'll have an idea of what'll work best.
I think that 12 detents means it's a six pole winding -- not that it matters, much.

Tim,
Am happy with my Phoenix 80 in the B ship and have discussed the Delta wind with CC. Inconclusive.
Hope this forum has some inputs.

Hello Will,
The brushless ESC will certainly run your AVEOX.
It isn't a very high Kv motor, but even so, I'd start with retarded timing on the bench, loaded with the "real" prop for very short runs, and add advance slowly, listening and looking for the current to jump up without the RPM also rising. Then back off one step!
Hope that helps,
Dean
