I have added some lights to my Super Clown for night flying. Since it's so quiet it shouldn't bother anyone either.  Might get a few UFO sightings reported though...

The model uses the standard Brodak Super Clown electric package. (EPS-SC)  The self adhesive strip LEDs come from HobbyKing and are just connected to the main battery.  The strips come in one metre lengths (about $7 each) and are cut up and connected/soldered in parallel with very thin wire.  This setup adds about 2 oz to the weight of the model and draws about 0.5A   Should look good in the air at night I reckon.

Night flying is pretty popular here among a few of us, especially when we camp out at the field and have had a few beers. lol  We normally use those glow sticks (we call them Cylumes) that you break the glass inside by bending and it mixes the chemicals together.  Lately we have been using the cheap ones the kids use at parties as bangles and necklaces. They are cheap and sold at the supermarket. 

I tell you, an F2D combat model looks great in the dark when the streamer is a bunch of glow sticks tied together.

Anyway, I spotted these led strips on Hobbyking and thought I would give them a try after seeing how bright they were on a helicopter.
