I am one of the lucky ones that lives in the same state (Alabama) as Tom Morris. Recently Ty made a round trip from Huntsville to Anniston to pick up some stuff from Tom. He brought back, for me, one of Tom's ARF E Ringmaster. It was built, covered, and painted white. All that was needed was some paint trim, decal, wheels, motor, Prop adapter, ESC, timer, and batteries. Tom was also had in stock and provided the Cobra 2221/10 motor, prop adapter and two APC 9x6 EP props.
Tom built the battery compartment into the outboard wing and a compartment for the ESC on the inboard side of the fuselage. He provided a round hole between the two for the battery leads to pass from the battery compartment to the ESC. This required putting bullet connectors on the battery and ESC. I also had to build adapters to go between the batteries and battery charger. To maintain correct battery polarization I placed the female contact on the + side and the male contact on the – side, (see pictures). Tom’s battery hatch cover is also a work of art. Curved to fit the wing profile.
Haven’t flown it yet but the original setup is as follows:
Motor, Cobra 2221/10 KV 1500
Battery, Hyperion 3S 1600 70C
ESC< Trunigy Plush 30 amp
Timer, KR. Initial RPMs set to 9500
Weight ready to launch is 25 oz.
I will post after the first test flight on how well she flies.
