LiPos on the Barbie
« on: May 21, 2010, 07:01:34 AM »
Guys,

I thought you all might get a kick out of seeing the setup I used to break in some brand new batteries.  Since I am a total noob when it comes to this electric thing, I took the belt, suspenders, and duct tape approach.  Charging bag, terra cotta base, lower the gas grill lid and charge/discharge away.

Original design Volt Aire is on the board right now (sorry, no pix yet.)

Gotta admit when I read the title I thought uh-oh....  However your pix looks really cool!  CLP**

Looks like a 3-shelf grille - so you can charge multiple packs too.   You did remove the gas botle didn't you???  :o  ;D  LL~  LL~  LL~

Dennis,

Actually, my biggest concern was whether to use a dry rub or BBQ sauce  VD~ ;D :X

Hey, this new guy is funny!

A sense of humor is a necessary component of this hobby of ours. How else to explain why we are still arguing about how overhead eights were done in 1952 and the other exotica we enjoy?

And, gotta say "Volt Aire" is the most cleverly erudite model-name pun I have heard in a long time, referencing the Enlightenment iconoclast who fought the establishment and the status quo so brilliantly and who fought for the rights of oppressed people in an age when such thinking could cost your life. Perfect name for a revolutionary development in model flying, the signpost showing the way to the future. Or something.

Either rub or sauce will provide delicious runs. Just avoid glow fuel marinade. Makes it like a slimer again.  S?P
