Another work in process, while I wait for the wind, storms, wind, cold, and wind to abate a little. At this rate I will have 4-5 brand new E-birds to test - EGAD!
This is a Hanger 9 PT-19 Profile that I am converting to try some of the Horizon stuff including the Eflte Power 15 motor, Eflite ESC, Eflite CL Timer and 4Sx2600 ThunderPower battery.
Word on the slimer PT's is that they tend to be a little tail heavy, so I tried pushing everything forward. Motor is centered on the fuselage and mounted on 1/16" x 1/2" x 3/4" aluminum angle brackets made from stock found at the local ACE hardware. The mount is light, very robust - and probably a pretty good layout to use for most profiles.
Just about all the special ECL work is done, from here out it will build just like a normal ARF...

Thank you Andreas. BW@ The IC prop is just for handling around the shop. Electric props are so thin & light I would hate to damage it just in building and handling.
The PT-19 is a small bird, (around 500 sq in) I am planning on using a 10x5 APC-E.

Thanks Crist. I figure you must have close to a 100 flight head start. Gonna take a lot of "resolve" for the rest of us to catch up!
Got another piece of good news, my club build a new PAVED circle over in Kalamazoo, about 40 miles away. That will be a big enabler for birds like the Swinger...

Good choice for an ARF glow to E conversion. I flew Neil Beekmans a few months ago and my first thoughts were that that plane would be perfect as an electric. He had to replace the fuse with a standard fuse cause he busted the original on a landing. He feels the fuses are weak. I am sure they are strong enough for an E setup.
As far as Crist goes, we will never catch up to him, I am only up to flight #11 on my new one and while warm enough its either raining or windy here. I don't even have to travel that far to get to Flushing Meadow Park (about 6 miles) and I cant get any flights!!!

Still have not flown it a lot, so it is not wrung out. Looks promising tho. I did not like the original Horizon timer so I fited it with a Will Hubin FM-0c. The ESC requires a low throttle setting to arm - so the RPM pot must be re-set for every flight.
I saw the parts list you have for your PT-electric - I'd say you will succeed using those pieces, You are in San Diego(?) so you will probably have yours trimmed out and flying great before I get a change to fly again!
