Death of an electric(Ring Rat 250)....
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:19:26 AM »
Well it happened; my wife tried to solo for the second time and when she stuck it in the ground I was a little frustrated and she picked up on it. I flew after her and the C/L Gods paid me back but good.

Wifes mishap;

and my fatal mishap;     H^^

Hi Wynn,

Yeah it sucks but hey; you win some and you lose some, I lost on that one!

Vector is coming along nicely, installed the flaps last night and will probably get the wing and stab installed this evening. Got the motor mount, battery compartment all figured out so I may be able to fly it this weekend, and I'm a little nervous about that too. Going to have to be very careful on those first few flights that's for sure.

If you get some flights in on yours please film that baby in flight!! Would love to see it.

Tough luck John, but it looks repairable, I hope.

Yeah it happens and is probably repairable but I just ordered another one, figured I could build another kit in about the same time I could repair the wing. Did you get yourself one yet?

Man come on out! Would love to have you here, I could learn a few things from you that's for sure. We also have a couple more C/L guys here and one doesn't live too far from me, I have yet to meet him but supposed to be a really nice guy who knows his stuff very well. You're welcome anytime and lunch is on me!

John,  just watched the video of your wifes attempt.   Looks like it didn't do much damage.   But, without saying a word, if the plane was flyable,  was to launch her again.  This is why I need someone to help me train my kids, grandkids and wife/girlfriend.  Watched our Old Time Stunt Champion of both classes 2011 Joe Gilbert helping another young man get some flying in.  Now go tell your wife the old DOC says if whe don't try again and fly she may have to face me one of these years. Hi Doc,

Thanks for the words of support, oh she's going to give it a try again but I need to repair that baby first. The wreck was a little worse than it appears; it snapped the motor mount right off and also cracked the main spar in the wing, so I need to get that all repaired and we'll go out for round #3! She's close, I think that she'll get it on this next try.

Wow, you've got a wife and a girlfriend!! Lucky dog you... ;D
