Has anyone tried these knock off "T" compatible connectors that are all over the place.
Are they as durable as far as soldering, etc.

I have, they suck. Can't solider without destroying them. Look at the delivery date to save virtually nothing.

Most suck . I have and do use the "amass" ones and they work great. I actually prefer these over the real ones. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRZRGSC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As far as soldering real deans or the fakes, one needs a good HOT iron and needs to pre-tin everything. A good 60-40 solder works well. There are many video's on you tube on how to solder deans. I DO NOT like those so called helper connections that some places sell to make soldering easier on deans or deans type plugs. To me they are double the work and add additional points of possible failure.

5 pair for $1.49 what a great deal! To me, just looking at them they look like cheap plastic and not the red Bakelite of the original Deans. Let us know if you try them.

Tried them. They are a tiny bit larger than the real ones. They did work ok most of the time(not good enough for me). Have a very cheap feel to them. Don't trust them as I've seen a few not make contact when plugged in. I WILL NOT USE THESE!!!!

The trick is to plug in a matting connector when soldering. Keeps pins aligned while plastic is soft from heat. I have use Hobbyking version with no problem.

That works. The only place I use Deans anymore is for arming plugs. it is easy to solder wires 90 degrees to the plug to keep them close to the fuselage side. Anything else and you have at least 1/2" of unbending wire sticking out. It also works well to tin both ends and flatten the wire end to make it lay flat on the connector. Getting the shrink around that bend is sometimes frustrating but that is why we have epoxy.

My favorite. Only problem I have encountered is a gradual loosening. None have come apart in flight yet. Still like the Deans for the arming plug.

The XT-60's with the mounting ears - where did you get those? I'm using the MPI arming switches with the Anderson Power Poles - work nice but kinda clunky!

eBay also has many listings. Just search on XT69E-M As cheep as $1 if you are willing to wait for them to be shipped from China. For US suppliers around $2.10 each if you buy 6.

I use the Deans knock offs and i am happy with them. Tin both sides before soldering and whatever you solder connect the plug to the mating side, that will stop the plug from distorting during the solder operation.

I usually use original Deans for that.. as even if it's accidentally on backwards it won't fried anything. But the XT-60 looks to be a good option. :)

XT60's are considerably safer. A 1/2 way closed Deans is an open hot wire. With XT60 the connection is closed before the contacts touch each other. No sparks either and I have had sparks with Deans.
