I'm not real sure about the start up problem yet, But the data logging being full shouldn't stop you from flying.
When U read your data it will just stop at the last recored flight. You can Disable data logging if U dont need
It.I find it helpful from time to time. If U do want to use it try to enable only the necessary things such as RPM,
Temp, Volts. That way you can get more reading ( time ) from the data logger. I'm assuming you have Castle link right?

Hi Peter,

No you do not need data logging. Was the setup working previously or is this a new arrangement?

You need to tell us about the setup. Is it an ICE ESC or a regular Phoenix ESC? Do the settings for the ESC all match the actual equipment? Are the three wires to the motor in good shape and making good contact?? Does the battery voltage match the setting in the ESC??

According to the Castle Lite instructions on page 3, a flashing yellow light indicates that it is data loggging.  Seems normal to me.

Hi Peter,
I think Paul is using an Ice Lite 75 or 50? He showed me at the Nats but I can't remember which one.

The Yellow light flashes when it is collecting data and is on continuously when the memory is full (Not Flashing when it's full). It flashes when it is collecting data. (Normal situation). I don't think the yellow light indicates any error conditions, it only reports on the state of the data logging memory.

If the motor is just oscillating it sounds like you have a failed winding on the motor. So (At least) one of the windings has failed. Simplest way to check is to substitute the motor with another one. (Any cheap brushless motor will do, he does not have to go and buy another OS just to check.

John.

The oscillation does only occur on the start up blip?  What happens after the delay time?  My motor oscillates on the start blip but runs fine after the delay.

I have had this happen when one of the motor wires broke just behind the banana plug and under the shrink wrap. It would be worth checking the wires.
