Crucial Election Issue!!!
« on: November 02, 2012, 10:37:56 AM »
Nothing political here except the signs.  After the election, grab a bunch of the coroplast signs.  I use them to make the ET-1 trainer and a folding landing strip for grass flying.  They have also been used to make flight boxes and other useful stuff.  AND, THE PRICE IS RIGHT!  You are actually helping your city clean up the mess.  H^^

And Iskandar reminds us this time of year to buy up those orange and black plastic tablecloths on sale.  They make good combat streamers.

In general, the candidates have one or two weeks to collect their signs.  Many local candidates with two-year terms use them in future elections.  Don't be too quick on the trigger.  I use only cardboard signs so as not to tempt outlaw RCers.

You are a little far away, Howard.  Go get your own.  In my area, if I really were inspired, I could snag at least a hundred!  Usually, I have waited a week and still had more than I wanted to stash in my garage.  I think recycling them by the politicians is really rare around here.  I don't recall ever seeing the same candidates twice.

Larry, while you're recycling the signs, could you cut one of the trainers for the old DOC.   I have tried several times to get a full size down load.   Even went to print shop and they couldn't do it either.   ALso don't forget to let me know how much it will cost.  That is as long as it is less than 6 zeros behind the number.

How about I send you a full size set of patterns?  Much cheaper and easier.  PM me your address.

I mean a Paul Smith for Dogcatcher sign.  I want several to distribute to the Detroit Combat Team diaspora.

Here it is Howard.  I'm undefeated and up for reelection next November.  Contributions are always welcome.  You can be memorialized in my Campaign Finance Report which is available on line from the County Clerk.

By the way, local advertisers around here offer to make and post signs for $3 or $4 each.  Not generally not political, just junk products and/or services.  They post them under cover of darkness without permission from property owners.  These are fair game for anybody to collect.  Many have entered the food chain in my shop.

Note to the moderater:  I'm not in this election.  This is just an answer to Howard's question.

We have two first rate dog catchers who are hired, not elected.  I am not after their jobs.

Zen Master Larry how long should we wait before making our midnight run for signs?  We really do need a wider runway for the Naughty Girl.

Do a search in this section of the forum and you will find the entire story and PDF plans for an electric C/L trainer that is pretty darn bulletproof.  We trained 145 kids in one circle in one day at the Fullerton CA airport open house a month ago.

Jim,

Those 4 x 8 signs are probably the heavier duty Coroplast whereas the 18 x 24 inch political yard signs are 4 mm light weight material or maybe 6 mm.

Found a couple 4 x 8 sheets of 4mm today on the perimeter fence of the local Naval Weapons station Ammo dump. I'm so happy I can now build an ET-1 with a one piece wing!!! Been playing with coropplast over the last year and came-up with this fun little doozzy. It's not electric but sure can be!!!

Hey Larry:

I went out and got a sign then ran it on the laser. No problem in cutting the parts with the laser. Let me know if you want some more and how many.

Thanks for leading to the plans for the ET-1 Trainer.  I built one with no engine and out of R/C foam for my two year old nephew ( to make me his favorite of course ).  It's a great design and easy to build. D>K
