electric but not control line
« on: September 13, 2014, 02:32:47 PM »
My grandson and I are building a free flight Dakota 1/2A. What I'm trying to figure out is an electric power package that will do the job. Unfortunately I know little about electric. I suspect in this case weight will be everything and a max of 2 min is overkill. So I'm looking for motor battery and timer. I have a charger. Cost is not everything but he's 4 and may show no interest. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks rog

I use a 1811 motor from Hobby King. A 6 Amp Turnigy ESC is used. Timer is by Will Hubin (Brodak carries it). I use a 360MA, two cell battery. This set up flies my Dakota very nice. I will send a few pictures in a few days of my electric Dakota.
