New 1/2 a electric Pathfinder (I-Beam)
« on: December 26, 2009, 04:05:31 PM »
My winter project - plans built, with I-Beam for lightness. Arrowind 2215/20, eflite 22amp esc, and parkzone 3s 2100 mah planned battery to start with some type of 8 inch prop and an Igor timer.

That looks awsome. I'd like to see some half ribs though. It shouldn't affect the weight much at all, but would help maintain the airfoil entry to a truer form.

Good idea. Half ribs are easy to add, and as you say, not much of a weight penalty.

Tom,

I dont know if you remember me or not, but I attended the Labor day meet in Dallas last year.  I was the guy with the purple electric model.  I'm hoping to make it back again this year.  Its looking like there will be several more electric models flying in Dallas this year. :)

Not a kit, its a plans built, using wood from left over crashes in part. (you can see the remains of the paint scheme from my full size pathfinder on the stab pieces) I cut up the flaps when I found I was without any 1/4 square.

You are certainly going to have plenty of power with that.  Can't wait to hear how it works for you.
