Anybody know the differences between the Hacker A30-14L and the V2 version of it?  I was trying to find out the kV rating of the A30-14L and all I seem to be able to locate on the web are specs for the V2 version.  On the surface, I might jump to the conclusion that Hacker added the integral cooling fan to create the V2, but I've been known to get into a lot of trouble when I "jump to the conclusion" rather than ask for help.

This is related to both of your questions.
Kv and pole count is used in the data logger to give you more accurate reading.  Also in the governor mode to calculate settings. But I don't believe the ESC is dependent on the Kv for actual motor performance.

BTW A30-14L specs: Kv (rpm/V) is still 800

Thanks for the response and the tech info.  I think I can understand why kV and pole count would affect the data logger.  I hadn't thought about that aspect.  I had assumed that the settings being calculated were part of Castle Link's "user help" to assist me in getting the operation set-up in the right ball park for matching the motor, battery, and desired performance.  I would be interested in knowing more about how the governor mode actually works.  Again, I had assumed that, using that option essentially bypassed an expectation that the RPM would be determined by an external signal from an R/C receiver and allowed the ESC to function purely on internal programming.
