Brodak Models is the new agent for KR Timers

(1/3) > >>

Keith Renecle:
Hi All,

I'm happy to announce that the new agent for my KR Timers is Brodak Models. I still do not know what happened to Mike Hanson and RSM Distribution and sure hope that he is o.k. I had many inquiries for my timers and I believe that Brodak will do a great job going forward.

I also have version 3 now with a new processor, because the older PIC chip was discontinued at the start of the covid issue. The functionality and operation is basically the same but the new chip has more memory so I was able to do a little more. The rpm can be incremented up or down by just holding the up and down rpm buttons in, or fine tuned by a single press as before. I also found a way to increase the rpm range down from 4500 to over 16 000 rpm without having to have separate timers for the low rpm range as used in indoor models. My timer will now also work with the low pole count motors like the Plettenberg Orbit motors.

The end setting can now be set by the user for the standard 2 second slow down warning with slightly increased rpm, or a gradual slow-down to complete stop, and then a dead stop after the flight times out. The gradual slow-down came after requests from the indoor model guys who said that the speed up at the end caused their foam models to head for the ceiling and a dead stop drops the model out of the sky, so now, the slow-down makes for nice landings. Just btw, this feature can't be used in FAI F2B competitions. I also changed the color of the label inside the heat shrink sleeving just to indicate the new version, as you can see from the attached photo.

John Rist:
Are the new units compatible with the old program stick.  Will the new program sticks, from Brodak, work with the older units?

Brodak as a US source is good news!    #^

Keith Renecle:
Hi John,

Yes, the ver.2 programming card/stick is still the same.

Mike Morrow:
Great news! Any idea when they will start stocking them?

Mike

Keith Renecle:
Hi Mike,

Sorry, I missed your post. They are now available for order on their website.
