Howard,

What is the advantage of this ESC over the Icelite series?

Time will tell if they are good for our applications. Personally, I see no need for data logging. Even shut it off on my CC  Phoenix 80 HV  ESC used in my 2M R/C pattern ship. Beeps were distracting and a really good charger tells me before and after a flight what's going on with the battery.
If one  can find the discontinued Phoenix 45, it does it all. Running Powerflight 15, 25, and 32. Thanks to Bob Hunt for steering me to it.  y1

Well if you want to spring 265 Euros for a Jive 80 LV, go for it. For myself, I will stick to ESCs with a bit more reasonable price!  ;D

John,

 CC 80 HV is for 10S- 12 S R/C applications.

What we're talking about here for U/C  is the old Phoenix 45

Frank, Reread my post. I'm talking about the LV (low voltage) not the HV (high voltage).  n1

Sorry,
But I thought you were referring to  the Castle Creations product line for which  I'm unaware of any LV series. The thread had moved back and forth from Kontronics(JIVE) to Castle Creations, so peace be with you.
