Title: Battery break-in
Post by: Larry Renger on September 29, 2016, 08:00:41 AM
I ran a search and found a couple of references to battery break-in, but no specifics.  Why is it needed and how is it done?  ???

Did you read this   http://stunthanger.com/smf/gettin-all-amp'ed-up!/discharge-rate-while-flying/

Hmm... how come the full link never comes up? Anyway it's not hard to find.

Just set your charger for the lowest termination voltage usually 4v then set your timer for 3 minutes and put on a much lighter load prop and set the rpm very low about 5-7k then charge and run the battery on the ground about 3-4 times and that should do it. You can also just fly the battery normally without break in but it'll get hot the first few times and won't last as long.

I did the search once and found only this thread. I changed word order in the search and tried again and found more.  There is some variability in the search function.  Some threads here with a variety of methods

You have to use the Hyperlink for the URL..

No hyperlink:
http://stunthanger.com/smf/gettin-all-amp'ed-up!/battery-discharger/msg460875/?topicseen#msg460875

With Hyperlink:
http://stunthanger.com/smf/gettin-all-amp'ed-up!/battery-discharger/msg460875/?topicseen#msg460875 (http://stunthanger.com/smf/gettin-all-amp'ed-up!/battery-discharger/msg460875/?topicseen#msg460875)

Put your URL aka link between these: <>
 Example: <link>

The problem with the link is the handling of special characters. Using "Insert Link" behind the scenes is enclosing the link with <test link>.
