Hi Roger,
That is a shame. We were all hoping you would be able to fly. I hope you are able to at least be there to cheer us all on to riches and glory. The contest won't be the same without your smiling face and good cheer. Maybe we could take the E motors out of your planes and rig them to one of those adjustable beds and then you would be able to move around on your own in a comfortable position. And then Howard could maybe use you as a judge, even if you are laying down on the job? If you can't make it there we will be sure to stop by, if only to sign your cast.
I know what it's like to be laid up with injuries, mine was from racing on skis at a speed waaaaay beyond my abilities. But like my wise pappy always told me: "getting sick or injured is mother natures way of making us appreciate our good health after we mend". Look on the bright side, Gary told me that you promised you would stop racing with the teenagers and that should go a long way in preventing injury to your other UNDAMAGED ribs!
If you can at least come out that would be great, because we all know that without your coaching, your brother Gary can't even remember which maneuver comes next! I don't know if he can fly without you being there?
I plan on being there Fri. AM to fly with you guys at your club field. It has been fun flying on Friday's with you guys the past two years, thanks for doing this for us.
I hope you continue on your road to a swift recovery.
Warm Regards, Your friend,
