Anyone know how many poles are in the Arrowind 2820/07 motor? My problem is that my motor is already installed in the airplane and it is hard to see inside. I think I can count 14 magnets. I set the Castle program up for 14 poles and the test run of the motor seems a little hot for me.

14 poles and 920Kv. This motor does very well on the 11 x 5.5 or 11 x 4.5P APC props on 4S. We are currently flying a Pathfinder and Brodak Profile Hellcat with it on 4S 2800's to 4S 3300's.

Thank you for the quick reply. 14 Poles and 920Kv is where I am at and sounds good.

Hi John,
I've used many of the E-Max 2820's (same as Arrowind) and I battle to warm them up........not complaining! Cool is good. Maybe your motor is getting hot on the static run and the air is not not getting through the motor. So just check to make sure that you have a good airflow through it. The motor structure allows a nice flow of air, so it should be fine in the air. What model do you have it in?

The motor is setting in a converted Vector. So there should be enough air getting around it. Once I figured out the number of magnets and did the input into the Castle progam and did a test, the motor was a little warm to me. I will go out and put up a flight or two this weekend and see if the motor runs cooler.
Thanks.
