Arming switch out of stock
« on: April 01, 2025, 05:01:20 PM »
I have been searching for a MPI Maxx Products Arming Switch #6970 with Dean's Connectors. They are out of stock. I contacted them and learned that they "had a problem with the manufacturer" and are looking for a new one. I tried a few of their customers and each was out of stock. Innov8tive has one that looks the same but isn't.
Just wanted to pass along this information.

John,
Thanks for the info. Could you post their website so when it is in stock, we can get them.

Best,   DennisT

Thanks to John for posting!

I was chatting with John about his new e-Vector when he told me about the MPI issue.  When they say things like “having a problem with supplier” I figured that was a “pearl clutching” moment!  I was hoping that if John posted there might lead others to post possible supply links, thanks to those who have posted here.

I use the MPI units everywhere. I have a couple new ones on hand, plus my local Hobby shop usually has them in stock.  I do not (yet) plan on going into hoarder mode - honest!  All seriousness aside this is not a crisis issue, if we can solder up LiIons then new arming switches should not be a game breaker, right?  It’s just that I am perfectly happy. BUYING a ready to use component instead of dabbing one.

Per John, the Innov8tive unit was a 1-piece mounting flange that does NOT mechanically lock the connector body in place, you need a couple drops of CA.  Probably still OK…
