I have two APC thin electric props. One is labeled 12 X 6 EP. It has APC C-2 on the hub. The other is labeled 12 X 6 P. It also has APC C-2 on the hub. They look the same. Are they the same?
I use this prop on my E-Cavalier cut down to a 11-1/2 X 6 P. Dose anyone make a 11-1/2 X 6 P in carbon fiber prop? A 3 blade might be an option but I would have to find a new prop adapter and 3 blade P spinner. Probably too expensive for now. So a 2 bladed P is the best answer.

APC electric props are listed with an "E" suffix. Electric Pushers carry an "EP" suffix. APC IC engine Pushers carry a "P" suffix. The IC props would also had a different blade shape than the electric props.
Gets even more confusing: APC electric props used to be very thin, and early adopters to electric stunt would use these typically around 8400 RPM. However APC was concerned with the advances in e-Power and as a result they "fattened" up all the electric props- I think that was around summer 2013. This had a major impact on the 12x6E & 12x6EP as the operation RPM climbed from around 8400 to round 9400. I worked with APC to get them to bring out the F2B series which were somewhere between the early thin props and the later thick props. As a result the 12x6EP-F2B is a roughly 8800 RPM prop.
As Motorman said, there is a difference in weight due to thickness, unfortunately I cannot tell you what the 3 weights would be because I do not have examples of the earlier two 12x6 series.
It sounds like you have settled into a prop: I should leave well enough alone, S?P BUT if I was flying an E-Cav I would try it with a 10x5.8 EP turning 9500 RPM...

I make a 12x6EP 2 blade carbon fiber of the APC.I made a hollow version for my Velvet and it really likes it.

Take care John. The one I have ( APC 12x6 EP marked F2B ) pulls WAY more amps than the 12x6EP. I may try it again later and reduce RPM, but I ran a battery down almost too low by just slapping it on there and flying a full flight. It will be real interesting to see your results.

I vote neither because they are both relatively heavy. Instead consider the XOAR props PJN or PJM series (same thing different color). They are lightweight CNC machined and the pitch was spot on according to my pitch gauge.

I have started to use the APC 12x6 EP F2B on a couple of planes. My initial flights support what Dennis has said. I was able to knock off 400 RPM from the standard 12x6 and the plane was still a little fast. Final results should end up with lower RPM by 500 to 600.

Whats a good source? Do they come in a pusher prop for electric.
