Another Stupid KR-governor Question?

Another Stupid KR-governor Question?

If I change the 4s out for a 5s
Will the KR Governor maintain the 98,000rpm setting from the 4s pack?
Or will I need to reset the RPM?

Set Up:
KR-Governor
ZTW 65
BK3548C 950 KV Motor
9800 RPM
Prop: APC 11 x 5.5 EP

4s - 3500mAh 30C Battery
(14.8v x 950kv = 14,060rpm - 25% = 10,545rpm)

5S - 2600mAh 30C Battery
(18.5v x 950kv = 17,575rpm - 25% = 13,151rpm)

It should maintain the RPM just fine.  There's a very slight chance that it'll oscillate, but that's just my professional side intruding into this fun hobby of ours.  I suspect Keith's been there, done that, and adjusted the tuning.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I can tell you that to get nearer to the sweet spot in the rpm range you will want to have a motor near or in the 775-825 kv range to best use that 5s battery efficiently. It's been a while since I used my KR timer so I'm sure that someone whose memory is fresher regarding the KR timer can help more with the actual settings questions.

The KR timer has a wire connected to one of the motor leads.  It uses this wire as a pickup for the tachometer that is built into the KR timer.   Therefore the RPM setting is controlled by this tachometer and is independent of battery voltage.   Changing from a 4S to a 5S will not change the motor RPMs.   What will change is head room and AMP draw.  As stated before it is important to match motor KV rating to cell count for maximum efficient operation.
