Title: Another dumb ESC question
Post by: Randy Powell on March 07, 2013, 09:25:50 AM
So, I have an opportunity to get an ICE75 ESC pretty inexpensively. I understand the the ICE Lite 75 is the one I want. What's the difference?

Thanks

Randy, basically the difference with regards to our needs in CL is that the ICE75 weighs a bit more than the ICE Lite 75,, mostly because of a larger heat sink.

If you buy the ICE 75 and its to heavy, we can talk, I use that speed control in my EF-1 pylon planes,, we dump a 4S 2800mah  battery in about 1:30 so the heat sink is a good thing,,

I think you can remove the heat sink because it is supposed to be there to dissipate heat from the BEC and our timers don't draw enough juice to generate much if any BEC heat (we are not running a radio and a bunch of servos). I believe the ICE Lite is just a regular ICE without the heat sink.

Hopefully others will correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks. I thought it was just a case of the heat sink, but then, you never know.
