Larry Renger and I headed out to our normal flying site today only to find out that Whittier Narrows was closed to model airplanes today. So we headed north in the face of "Carmageddon II" and went to Sepulveda basin to fly. We took along our normal mix of electrics and my new Torquette racer for a contest coming up at the end of the year. This years event is dedicated to Dale Kern and will be using Dale's "Torquette". The plane is limited to 1cc (.061) engines.
Here are some pictures I took of our planes.

Andy's Torquette uses an APWasp with Holuszko venturi, our usual stunt setup with no modifications. On 42' lines and 10% Nitro, that thing is FAST!!! I shudder to think what the speed boys will show up with. And for the event we will provide 15% Nitro.
The day was quite hot, and by December, with cooler weather, the performance should improve. %^@

It was one of my better choices in life to let Larry fly it first. I really hate spinning around like a top.
