Page 2 Spark Eliminator
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:57:01 PM »
SPARK ELIMINATOR has gone belly up so I am contuning it here.

How about two arming plugs.  One with a resister and the other with the arming short.  Plug up the resistor plug.  Wait a few seconds and plug up the arming plug.  Remove the the resistor plug and go fly.  With the resistor plug removed the arming plug is HOT and can kill everything if removed.  Open .doc below for a schematic.

too complicated, you not need to wait secons, you need only touch, so you can just touch the plug to resistor and then simply put it to normal place, capacitor will remain charged during that short period

Igor you are correct.  The resistor should be built into airplane not a second plug.  A touch of the arming plug to the resistor will charge the cap and then quickly transfer it to the arming position and you are good to go.  Open attached schematic for wiring diagram.

I will post again pictures from that locked thread ... I think you need only some conductuve leadouts from that resistor, you not need anything more just to touch it before you really insret the plug, or connector or whatever ... it is charged almost immediatelly to level that it does not make spark anymore

Igor, That looks like it is simple and will work.  But does the setup have an arimging plug?

no, I dont, becaise it is acessible from outside (from bottom of model), but you can use the same trick on side of fuselage, that is why I show it

Just want to make sure I've got the right resistor..  What's the resistor value for charging up the cap?
