A Battery Warmer... Really?
« on: February 25, 2025, 07:56:17 PM »
Good evening,

Here's another article. This time it's on, of all things, a "battery warmer" for electric planes!

A battery warmer? Come on, is this a joke? Do I really need a battery warmer? Maybe, maybe not. But, you can read about why I needed one and how I built mine.

Thanks to John Thompson for posting this on their Flying Lines website at: http://flyinglines.org/nunes.battery.warmer.pdf

Enjoy,
Dennis

It is well known that cold weather degrades battery performance. And you have good points about other ways to keep the batteries warm.
I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

All true.  Another reason I don't want an electric car.   LL~

Dennis.

I read your article a couple of days ago.  There's lots of good info in there.  You are quite innovative using readily available bits/pieces/parts and reasonably inexpensive at that.  Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
