Electric Spinners
« on: October 13, 2012, 08:37:37 AM »
Don'cha know I go to my LHS to get one of them new fangled, transparent electric nose cones. Don't really like the transparent bit, but, oh well...
I get that little beauty home and I'm about to whip out the spray can of white when, wait a minute! Lemme see that white Great Planes spinner I bought las year for my Fox .35. Well I'l be dipped, It's the same spinner, only already white!

Hi Ward-o
I kinda suspected that but never tried what you did.  Is the electric spinner back-plate different?  Lighter?

The nonelectric ones are a tad heavier.

My screwdrivers don't fit the screws in those spinners very well, but I found some 6mm M3 screws that work dandy.

Yup.  You have to square-out the holes to use a pusher BUT if you are using a 1.5" or 1.75" the hub actually fills the hole up (a little) and its not as painful as it sounds.  At 9500 RPM you cannot even tell!
