Hi Larry,
If your still interested here are a few suggestions. We didn't mean to ignore you (at least I didn't), I just didn't have time to run the numbers.
I will assume your airplane ready for the power system will be 9oz. If your target weight is 16oz then 150 watts should be a good starting point. To get 150 watts you will need to draw ~20amps from a 2S pack, or you can draw ~13.5 amps from a 3S pack. Since the smaller motors don't like the high amp draw (relative to their size) I will go with the 3S pack.
Again I will assume you are flying on 52' lines with a lap time close to 4.8 seconds, which in turn is ~46mph.
If the above is correct then the following power systems should be a good match.
The only variable is the motor. The same battery, ESC and timer can be used for all the power systems.
Battery 1: Thunder Power 910mah 3S 2.3oz .625" x 1.312" x 2.562" flight duration will be ~3.5min @ 12amps (max current draw 14.5amps)
Battery 2: Thunder Power 1320mah 3S 3oz .750" x 1.375" x 2.562" flight duration will be ~5.25min @ 12amps (max current draw 17amps)
ESC: Castle Creations Phoenix-25 .6oz
Timer: Your choice, JMP or Z-Tron 2 grams
Motor 1: Mega (16-7-12) 1.7oz 7x5 @ 11,800 rpm @ 10.5amps 117watts
8x5 @ 10,300 rpm @ 13.5amps 150watts
Motor 2: AXI (2208/26) 1.6oz 7x5 @ 11,400rpm @ 10amps 111watts
8x5 @ 9,700rpm @ 12amps 133watts
If everything above is true it looks like the AUW will be about 14.5oz max. At that weight you will need ~135watts. As you can see the power systems mentioned will have a good range of power (100-175watts). You can adjust prop dia., pitch, line length and throttle % to get even closer to the desired performance.
I did this very quickly so I only gave you two choices. Everything is brand name and can be substituted with any generic brand to save money. People who e-mail me usually get 4-5 or more choices (if I have the time). There are literally hundreds to choose from. If you would like more info/discussion ask away.
