Charging Station?
« on: October 28, 2011, 09:02:32 AM »
The thread "100 Flights on ThunderPower batteries" has kinda gotten highjacked into a discussion on power supplies for driving LiPo chargers.  I am planning on building a charging station in a briefcase.  It appears that a single battery charging station can be powered by a PC power supply.  Anyway please list your setup of an AC powered charging station in a portable case (pictures are good).  It is always fun to see what others have done when building something.  Helps prevent dumb mistakes!

John,
Check out the Thunder Power TP610C-ACDC charger,  has all you need in one package including AC plug in. Should fit in an R/C transmitter box.

John,
Those power supplies that I have converted are 5"x5" and about 10" deep. I would guess they weigh 3-4 pounds each. The going price from server supply.com is around $18 at the moment and the shipping is free. That makes it a really good deal in my opinion. There are many other server supplies listed on RCGroups that people have converted. Some are even more powerful and smaller than these. The one that I'm using seems to be the most plentiful and least expensive. I will show a few pictures of my setup. Some may be repeats.
