Sometime during the eighties, when Bob was editor of FM I convinced him to let me do a C/L test build on a Midwest electric 'HOTS". This was an RC 'HotRod' of the day, powered by a Speed 400 motor. It did have a somewhat C/L look to it, built with flaps and elevator. It took 7 onboard sub C batteries to get it off the ground. As I recall I flew it on 52' lines and did get it to do a couple of loops. Eventually it was put to work as a C/L trainer for a flyin' buddy's bride. That too was published in FM. No idea what date that would have been, but, I'm sure I have it somewhere in my dusty archives.
Pic to follow later.
