Tight bend 90 deg exhaust header for Saito 56

(1/2) > >>

Dennis Toth:
Anyone know if Saito or a aftermarket seller has a tight bend 90 deg exhaust header for the Saito 56? I want to have the header and muffler more inline with the fuse side rather than sticking out at 45 deg. Also what is the thread size for the header nut?

Best,    DennisT

Update: I found this website that has both a 90 deg fitting and a aftermarket muffler that is 90 deg. Here is the site:  https://www.rcspecialties.net/products.php?model=TH10X1A

I understand that it's a specialty part.  But $69.95 plus shipping?  You really gotta want the "look".

The stock elbows are steel, I believe.  The elbow in my Saito .56 is bent to a 90. Crist Rigotti assembled the model and the engine and he said he sent it off to some one to bend for him. Old school procedure would be to fill the tube with fine sand, then heat it to bend it. I think I have seen that some one, maybe even Sait6o and Horizon Hobbies offered an accessory 90 bend exhaust elbow in more recent times.
  Type at you later,

SAI50163 from Horizon Hobbies $33.67  miter cut and welded 90 deg. elbow, steel, 10mm male threads on both ends. In stock.

Any idea if the hard 90 header backpressure affects the engine run?
