Saito parts
« on: July 06, 2014, 08:32:00 AM »
Was looking for a Saito 40a RC carb to replace a CL carb on one of my engines and discovered finding Saito parts on the Horizon site is hit and miss. I folowed the directions, find the engine then click parts and accessories, worked great cept the parts I needed were not listed. Later discovered doing this doesn't list everything Horizon might have for a particular engine.

Wondering around Google I found a site that lists all Saito engine parts, used this site to find the part number then ran the part number through Google. Surprise surprise, Google found the part on Horizon even though it wasn't on the list of parts for the Saito 40. If you need Saito parts, might want to look up the part number here http://www.macgregor.co.uk/saito/spares.htm then put the number in Google.

Probably need to explain why I wanted the RC Carb.. To make my modification to the CL carb I can't use the Saito needle so have been using an OS needle. The OS needle simply isn't as good as the Saito, you can wiggle it and the RPM will change. A complete Saito 40 RC carb is almost $40.00 and is Back ordered from Horizon, however they do have the carb body which has everything I need except the needle itself for $20.00, Add the needle and we end up with everything I use for the mod to the 40 carb.

Between the above site, Google and Horizon I was able to order what I needed.

Bob

I also found that problem with the Horizon site. Really stinks. R%%%%
I also discovered the Macgregor site in the UK and did the same as you did.

Horizon needs to take a look at the UK site and learn from them.   >:D

I found the same problem with Horizon when looking for a needle valve ratchet clip for my Saito .30. I sent an E-Mail o Horizon asking
for the part number and they said the no longer had parts for the .30.  Then, I found the part number for the clip and looked it up on their
site and it was there. I recently ordered a Saito .30 muffler from them and it was at a discounted price.

Obviously, Horizon doesn't always have the sharpest pencil from the stack answering customer questions.
