Title: Saito Carb Mods now being done by Jim Lee
Post by: Bob Reeves on October 07, 2014, 01:25:41 AM
For many reasons I have turned over modifying Saito carbs to Jim Lee. See Lees Machine Shop in the vendors section.

I will still be answering any questions anyone might have and helping in any way I can but if you need a Saito Carb modified for control line Jim will take care of you.

Hello Bob,
I picked up a Saito 56 factory control line version. Does Jim Lee supply a "Bob Reeves" C/L venturi for these engines?

Regards,

Andrew Tinsley.

Not really "supply" as much as modify the one that came on the engine. Send it to Jim, he will take care of you and as said I'll be available should anyone have any questions.

The CL version is actually easier to do as you don't have to machine the aluminum barrel insert, it already has one you could work with.  All you have to do is drill out and tap the one end to 1/4"x20 for the nylon screw,  then cut the spigot to the desired length and reduce the diameter near the tip. then just clean, sealed & assemble.  :)

Is there a photo of the C/L version modification somewhere that I can check out? I have a couple of those.
   Thanks a lot,

Yes, I do have a few photos..

#1 Stock CL carb apart.. (the aluminum barrel just needs to be drilled out and tapped)

#2 Comparison with R/C spigot (cut down) vs the stock CL spray bar which could be modify easily.

#3  This is what it looks like assembled. (the spigot still needs to be shorten a touch)

Thank you for posting that.. Most of the CL carbs I have done were for the 40, forgot how the 56/62 CL carb was built.. Good info.
