To those of you that have used a Saito 40. What would be the plane size range in sq in to be powered by a saito 40 ?

I have used the Saito FA-40 on a Brodak P40 ARF (53" wing, 560 sqin, 55 oz). On my P40, I use an APC 11-6 sport prop at 9,200 rpm on the ground (about 300 rpm below peak to keep it slightly rich). And I run VP 15% AIR fuel, with a little Klotz KL-198 lite syn added to boost the total oil from 18% to 20%.

And seen a Saito 40 on a profile Pathfinder (55" wing, 620 sqin, not sure of the model weight), and also an OS 40 Surpass on a TF Doctor.

First off, which SAITO 40 do you have?

I have used the SAITO 40A (latest version) on a number of planes designed for engines in the 35 to 46 range.

The 40A is very powerful and will perform well in planes like the Stiletto and others designed around 46 2 Stroke engines.
It performs well inverted, upright or profile mounted.
It likes muffler pressure.
My personal favorite is inverted.
