OK not CL, but diesel four strokes.
When we go on a bike tour we hope to see some boats. Today we saw the world's biggest and most powerful boat, The Edwin C Gott. This boat is 1005 feet long and 105 feet wide. I can carry up to 74,000 tons of taconite when the lake levels are high.
The ill-fated Edmund Fitzgerald (the pride of the American side) was only 739 feet.
The boat was originally powered by two 16-cylinder diesels, but had to be re-engined due to a new EPA mandate. The current engines are a pair of cleaner and more efficient 8-cylinder Cats putting out a total of 19,500 HP, the most power of any boat in the world.
Note: Aircraft carriers are SHIPS. This is a lake BOAT.
