If you're flying with a close margine to trees ect. throw down a rag and check it now and then during flight so you don't wander off.

I would think that a rag would be a tripping hazard!

I try to pivot on one foot if in tight circle area.   Many times I wou;d accidently kick the rag.  Better yet is your line spool for a marker. D>K

I take a can of spray paint for inverted use in ground marking, and I just spray an X at the center. Harms nothing, cannot trip on it and after years now, no one has ever complained, even on a school yard.

Your not gonna trip over a little rag. You don't pivot on the rag, just put it down as a reference point like 10' away.

10 feet!  So much for marking the center of the circle!  A rag in the middle of the circle is still a tripping hazard and people should not do it!
