Valley Circle Burners Profile and 1cc Contest May 19th

The Valley Circle Burners, of San Fernando Valley, California are in the planning stages of our usual first contest of the year. It will be held Sunday, May 19th at Apollo 11 Field in Van Nuys, Ca. This flying field is also known as Sepulveda Basin.

More details will be announced, but for now, know that we will be using the VCB profile rules. The classes will be Sportsman and Competitor. Awards are planned.

The other event will be 1/2A--1cc. This will be a single class, winner take all award. Refueling is allowed during the allotted flight time. Profile and built-up fuselages acceptable.

Bob,

This contest is entirely stunt. So we'll take anything up to an .061 cu. in. and run them against each other. We'll use our VCB Profile stunt rules, except they can be full bodied. (It is just easier to say it this way, so that guys can go look up just the one set of rules....)  No BOM, no appearance points. Standard pattern. Pit stops allowed.

I think we dodged a bullet last week with the rains. A canal runs right behind our circles--which is the beginning of the LA river. When it floods, it silts over the circles....and is a real mess to clean up. Downriver, it was really, really roaring. Just four feet from flood stage. It is pretty awesome to watch how fast water will run in a cement-lined river bed.
