•   PROFILE UNLIMITED (ENG. MAX. .92 C.I.) – Skill classes (B, I, A, E)
•   CLASSIC/NOSTALGIA 30 – SKILL Classes (B, I, A, E) - Both events flown together in the flight order, but awarded separately. May use Classic &
        OTS era A/C to fly later eras.
•   OLD TIME STUNT (OPEN COMPETITION)
•   PILOTS MEETING- 8:30 AM
•   COMPETITION – 9:00 AM
•   1ST THRU 3RD place awards for all events
•   There will be no BOM/appearance points at this contest for any event.

•   PRECISION AEROBATICS - SKILL Classes (B, I, A, E)
•   PILOTS MEETING 8:30 – COMPETITION - 8:45 AM
•   1ST THRU 3RD place awards for each skill class
•   There will be no BOM/appearance points for any skill class.

PARK AND LOCAL AREA INFORMATION: 

Etowah River Park has nicely manicured grass flying surfaces, permanent clean brick restrooms, walking trails, paved parking, and river scenery. We are very fortunate the City of Canton has allowed one of its parks to host this model aviation event. Brown Industrial Pkwy. ends at entry to park – veer left and follow road to large grass area surrounded by sidewalk.

Canton is located near the foot of the North Georgia mountains. It has a nice old-time downtown. The area has an abundance of great trails, rivers, apple orchards and vineyards. Lake ALLATOONA is nearby with campsites, RV areas, etc.   In addition, there are outlets stores about 10 miles south of Canton on the I-575 corridor. If coming from the South exit off I-75 to I-575 to right at exit 268. This will take you on towards Canton. Most of the motels in Canton are off Exit 20.

   VICTORIA CAMPGROUND, 937 Victoria Landing RD., WOODSTOCK, GA. 30189, (678) 721-6700 – RR/Showers/RR- Tents allowed – Open till OCT.28 – GPS (34.15139, -84.61944) Probably the closest campground to Canton. Also located on Lake Allatoona.
**** These are the closest and best campgrounds of the 89 campgrounds we researched in a radius of about 40 mi. of Canton. Fortunately, they are among the best with very high ratings.  There are a few others available but higher priced and in high traffic areas.   

Is there any information on the Sky Rebels and their field?  I live about an hour away and have been looking for a place to fly.

Thank you Doug, for the update on when the club flies and where.  I have some stuff to sell. I am going electric with foamies for now. And I have a Ringmaster waiting on the shelf.

I am sorry but I will not make it to the contest.  I will change this to a Classified post. 

    The Canton, GA. contest is still on for Sept. 14 and 15, 2024. Field will be open for practice Fri., Sept. 13. We will work around and make adjustments if there are scattered showers.  One of our contingencies will be to meet at Tom's house down in his shop to talk airplanes and have refreshments, snacks, and good times, if weather is too wet. I think we will get it done. Sun will be pretty dry and should be able to complete all events, including some Sat. events.
     We had to be committed to these dates for several reasons: The use of the park fee is not refundable, no more park dates available to reschedule, fliers coming to pick-up planes, kits, etc. from Tom, and displaying the late Mike Lindler's estate  stuff for sale with the proceeds going to two very good charities. Mike had a lot of good stuff, planes, kits, engines, accessories, etc.  We look forward to seeing you this weekend.
