2020 King Orange International is now a go . . . for now
« on: August 29, 2020, 07:41:07 AM »
Here are some links to some helpful files. There are both large versions for those with fast internet speeds and a zest for high quality and the are "small versions" of the same files for those with slower internet speeds or who may just want to quickly print something out to take with them to the contest on October 23rd, 24th and 25th in McAlpin, Florida.

Corrected Files

Our friend Doug Peterson just pointed out that there was an error in one of the dates. I checked and found that to be true, so I have uploaded the corrected files. Here is the link:

You can also find this in the events section.

Thanks Dougie !!

Scoring is the same as last year. Three attempts to make two official flights. Scored flights are averaged together to  determine winner, just like Top Twenty Day at the AMA Nationals.

Better eat your wheaties and strap it on. Make sure your stuff is working and reliable or you will suffer greatly.

The 2020 King Orange International is still on schedule for Friday October 23rd through Sunday October 25th.

Events are:

Friday: PRACTICE

Saturday: War Birds, Old Time, Nostalgia 30 and Profile. Saturday Evening: Appearance Judging and Concourse.

Sunday: Pampa Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced & Expert

If you are traveling to get there (aren't we all), be safe and we look forward to seeing you there.

We will be observing all social distancing protocols for the Covid-19 Pandemic, though a mask is not mandatory.

No appearance judging points are added to flight scores, but do count towards the Concours Award. We have a very nice Concours Trophy this year as was the case last year.

Trophies are awarded 1st through 3rd Place in all events. We had a grand time down upon the Suwannee River last year, hope we have another good one this year

Bob,

I checked the tea leaves (my crystal ball is in the shop) but I couldnít figure out when the last KOI is scheduled for.
I certainly hope you are there, so I can give you a good run for the trophy.
I have seen the light, and itís powered by a lipo.

A message to all who intend to come to KOI.
I am gathering stuff to donate to a aero modeling children club in Romania. They have basically nothing. No RC equipment FM, 2.4, no servos, they need control line kits, covering film, old props, motors if they have some life left in them, flying lines, handles. TO them a Ringmaster kit id gold. I would try to limit the stuff to 40-45 size motors and planes. I can take ARF. I can't really ship fully built planes.
Anything will be appreciated. I can also take framed parts (wings fuselages).
Thanks Traian
