Just wondering what startup ramp % guys are using? I started out at 50% but flying off grass needed a little quicker spin up to get moving, moved it up to 75%. Motor seems to growl a bit at this setting, then settles. Anyone else notice this?

I see allot of people holding the plane until it hits full power. You can do the same with a stooge. I have my helper release the plane as soon as the prop starts to turn just to simplify things for her. The plane waddles a little at first but just keep the lines tight without pulling it side ways to let the wheels roll and it takes off just fine. Alot depends on the grass you're working with. If it was thick and lumpy I would want more power before release. If you don't have a helper or a stooge you need a smooth runway with a 50% ramp up.
